On a night dive I was sooo fortunate to see out in the open the rarely seen Indonesian Walking Shark, my 1st ever sighting.

During my last dive in Yenbuba Jetty I came across this small group of Mobula Rays cruising past with a small amount of Silverside fish, just the icing I needed to finish my dive trip.

It was nice to finally get into my dive gear and enjoy the reefs and coral of Atauro which I believe the coral reefs are the most biodiverse in the world whereby a study in 2016 recorded a higher fish diversity anywhere in the world - more than 4500 fish species, even comparable to Raja Ampat in Indonesia.

Enroute to Atauro Island for a day of free diving and scuba we came across a scattered pod of Sperm Whales, in total approx. 15-18 in mixed groups, Adults, Mum and Calf etc. We decided to abort the scuba day trip and remain with the Sperm Whales and snorkelled with them for approx 3hrs.
